So, I gave in and I went to the Adidas Originals store in search of my Supercolor. After loading the shop assistant’s arms so high with colours she was inhaling shoelaces, she returned with only one colour in my size.
Note: Ladies, and Gentlemen with normal sized feet, if you want a Supercolor get it now because unless you have feet the size of a small country your sizes are selling out super quick.
That colour was gold. I have a thing for yellow anyway and although I did want to walk away yesterday with a teal, I felt as though the gold had chosen me and so off I went to the counter and parted with my cash.
Yellow is not the easiest colour to wear, I think that’s a given, but Wiz Khalifa wasn’t wrong with “Black & Yellow” because evidenced by the photos above it’s a pretty perfect match. These would also look sick with an all white outfit (I don’t do all white so sorry there’s no photographic evidence) but I always associate White and Yellow with a fried egg (up to interpretation). These would also slay with anything grey and made from jersey or neoprene (my fashion juices are getting all excited).
Moral of the story: if for some strange turn of fate a colour chooses you, go with it. The fashion Gods (Anna Wintour and André Leon Talley) have spoken, so OWN that colour, no matter how bright or ‘unlike’ you it is. Make it you, let that colour know who the boss/trap queen is – that’s how you become So Versailles.
Background song for this look: Bitch Better Have My Money – Rihanna (God bless this woman).
