OOTD: Spirit Sweater

The word “spirit” makes me think of Bring It On (spirit stick, spirit fingers), which in turn makes me think of cheerleaders and Kirsten Dundst. “We got spirit, yes we do, we got spirit, how ’bout you?!” Evidently I’ve watched that film more times than it is healthy to.

The word “spirit” does not make me think of fashion. But, I’ve been in the dark about Spirit sweaters which seem to be the cool new american version of the Leaver’s hoodie – you can get college names, Greek house names and cities on the back of them. I have two spirit sweaters now, and they’re these cheap ($50) cool-cut sweaters with long curved hems. They look amazing with leggings (they cover your arse so you aren’t breaking the leggings rule…I’m watching you and your thin cotton leggings…) and just add an effortlessly cool LA-vibe to a usually basic bitch outfit. Though no one reading this should be basic bitching with their clothes and if you are, then you need to take a long, hard look at yourself…

I just paired my spirit sweater with a pair of classic jeans, my python skater shoes (had to add a lil’ something Versailles) and Chanel sunglasses that look like actual glasses. It’s a simple look but with a lot of fashion weight.
