I’m a season early but, as I mentioned here, sock and sandals are a thing and you need to deal with it. Nonetheless, just because I’ve gone hard and killed it in this OOTN doesn’t mean you can’t go wrong with socks and heeled sandals, oh you can, and it can be terrible and detrimental to everyone’s perceptions of you. Below are 2 examples of when socks and heeled sandals have gone terribly wrong even though the wearer thought it was terribly right:
Socks & Sandals
- The white doily sock with a great big clunky black rubber heeled monstrosity masquerading itself as a sandal. Of course, this look is a coveted look in some circles, in which case do you, but from my So Versailles point of view this look should be cremated and the dust thrown in the wind very very far away from me.
- The thick sock killing the seams of the dainty little stiletto sandal you chose to destroy because you were stupid and thought socks and sandals meant any socks and sandals. This is the way a confused 14 year old girl who only just stopped wearing patterned socks with ballet flats would wear this trend. So unless you’re a 14 year old girl, in which case you’ll learn, get a grip and pull yourself together.
This look is next level Versailles, if I do say so myself. I love over-layering pearl strands and I won’t lie my neck began to ache by the end of the night but we suffer for fashion.
