I’m not one for DIY in any sense of the word. Hell, I don’t even do my own laundry, some random person collects it and then drops it off later on in the week – I’m lazy. I’m a millennial and I expect everything I want to be done for me – it’s terrible, I know, but at least I can admit it. So imagine my surprise when I saw some beautiful little Swarovskis and thought they’d look super hot on the pockets of my jeans – how arts and crafts of me, how very Martha Stewart. Also, because I’m a millennial, I’m also super impatient, which in this instance, left me with some work to do. I brushed the dust off of my tiny sewing kit that I’m sure I stole from some hotel somewhere and spent the next 30 mins attempting to thread a needle. It was torture, but it eventually went through, then I started sewing the Swarovskis onto one of my pairs of ripped American Eagle jeans which, I must add, are the most comfortable and best looking jeans I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried pretty much every brand).
The whole process took me like an hour…and a half, but apparently I had nothing better to do with my time and I couldn’t wait for someone else to sew them on. I think I did a pretty good job though so give me some credit and acknowledgement, thanks.
The issue that lead to my sudden embodiment of Martha Stewart (the badass that she is) is that there aren’t any cool embellished jeans around atm, unless you want boyfriend jeans and I’m not about that life ’cause boyfriend jeans weren’t made for those of us blessed with lady humps in the trunk area. Without beating around the bush, they make me look fat and everyone else who isn’t a size 2/4, so no thank you. Sorry, not sorry. Anyway, my frustrations led to a pretty exceptional pair of jeans.
