Double denim is like, so a thing right now if you haven’t already noticed, like if you haven’t had access to the internet for the last 6 months, or if you are absent from social media as a whole (only then can you be forgiven or you ignorance). Though, let me tell you one thing that never fails to annoy me, irritate me to my inner core, when one celebrity wears an outfit and then all of a sudden the rest of the female population decide its about time to copy that same outfit, forgetting to inject even a smidgen, even the tiniest whisp of imagination. Just so we are on the same page I’m referring to the double denim look avec denim skirt Ky-Jen (Kylie Jenner, duh) wore. It’s as though the world only then just realised that the denim pencil skirt existed and then everyone decided right now, not even months down the line when everyone’s forgotten about it to preserve some originality but right now, is the time to wear this outfit. Ugh, basic bitches…what to do with them..?
Anyway, the moral of the story is that when double deniming you have to up the ante to make this look your own – change the shade of blue, the textures (some denims are softer than others and so change the fit on your body), whether you’re doing rips or not, how oversized your top is, your accessories etc.
Denim and gold do well together, like Batman and Robin or Anna Nicole Smith and that old rich guy…oh wait… Silver would have been just as good but my accessories tend to be gold, so I didn’t fight it. Both my denim leggings and shirt are super soft so it creates a totally different silhouette to my usual denim suspects.
