Recently, I’ve become very obsessed with face masks. Ever since learning the best way to wash my face at https://www.rallyhealth.com/health/the-best-way-to-wash-your-face-according-to-experts, I’ve been fretting over my cleanliness! For 5-10 minutes, twice a week, I become a little clay gremlin, or a tiny oat monster and I look over to my mirror every few minutes to stare, fascinated by the mask changing colour, or getting crispy (I know it’s gross but we all love it). What’s even better are the masks that harden on your face and then when your time is up you can start to “crack” the mask by making every over-exaggerated, horrible facial expression you can think of to loosen the mask before you wash it off…or maybe that’s just me. Then there are the fabric masks that just make you look like Hannibal Lector had a go on you – will they ever make fabric masks the size of someone’s actual face? Unfortunately I’m not one of those people who has the patience and time to make homemade masks, it’s just not happening so I buy my very comprehensive range of masks from here, there and anywhere else. Recently, I’ve been obsessing over Premier’s well recognised mud mask that allegedly does wonders for your complexion. I hope to purchase soon! Anyway, masking twice a week, depending on what type of mask you’re using brings a whole host of benefits to your face, and because I’ve tried my fair share of facial masks, I’ve brought to you my absolute favourites.
1. Peter Thomas Roth
Ok so, arguably, Peter Thomas Roth masks are the best out there – there’s a whole range of them but my faves are the Pumpkin exfoliator mask, the Cucumber mask and the Rose stem cell mask. The pumpkin exfoliating mask is tough enough to make a difference on your skin without resurfacing the whole thing. The cucumber mask is on the opposite end of the spectrum, this is a calming, cooling, clear-ish mask that replenishes. I’ve heard so much about the rose stem cell mask and it’s all true…its incredible, everything looks better, trust me.
2. Sephora Sleeping Masks
Was I tempted into buying these because of the cute little pod-like packaging? Yes, I won’t lie to you. But they actually turned out to be amazing. Sleeping masks make life so much easier because you can sleep with them on (they dry into the skin fast) and you wash them off in the morning. How convenient!?
3. The Body Shop – Honey & Oat Mask
To be fair I haven’t tried all of the Body Shop’s masks but this one is a winner. It dries on your face in 15 minutes and once you’ve washed it off it has deep cleaned your face to reveal skin you never thought you had. Yes, it’s brilliant. I even think you can eat it…but I wouldn’t, just in case. But it is oats…
4. Nature Republic – Snaytox Fabric Masks
So this one’s a little weird but stay with me. It contains artificial snake venom, which is supposedly very good for your skin. I’ll pretty much buy into any fad and I’m not sure how one goes about making artificial snake venom but this mask is super good. Nature Republic, if you haven’t heard of it before, is an incredible Korean brand and I wish we had it over here but I’ve linked a worldwide seller down below for your convenience *snaps for Cassie*. Anyway, it’s incredible, it firms the skin and is great for anti-ageing (if you’re into that).
5. Lush – Brazened Honey
Well, this is life-changing. After using this my skin looked like it belonged to a someone who was alive (my skin has the tendency to look like I’ve been dead for a bit), and dare I say it…I was glowing. A must have, mos’ def…
