‘Sup So Versailles, it’s your owner talking. It’s your half birthday! It’s been six months since I was ferreting around on the internet going through hell to perfect you (we still have some work to do but I’ll let you enjoy today first) and getting some random tech guy on Skype to make sure you were put together right. Technically, six months isn’t really a long time, it’s less than the time a baby needs to cook before it’s ready to emerge, so we’re still getting started but a lot has changed since March. Like how my addiction to shopping and make up has grown into an uncontrollable monster. So much so that I have a bottomless bag of make up I thrust at people when they visit me in the hope that they’ll take some off of my hands – the tables have turned and my mum gets my tried-and-tested-but-I-found-something-better products.
I’ve discovered that Twitter chats are something that exist and I, yes little me, held one on inspiration (’cause your girl is all about finding your inner Sasha Fierce).
I’ve found out that people internally roll their eyes when you tell them you blog and so I have an automatic reaction to be like “omg it’s actually good, like I’m actually funny…trust me…READ IT *shoves business card into their chest* *accidentally grazes breast* *apologises profusely*”.
I discovered that a few people find me interesting enough to want to interview me/feature me/talk about So Versailles which is pretty cool.
I realised that blogging is actually hard work if you want to do it right especially when you have a full time job – I write most of my posts on the commute (like I’m doing now).
I also discovered that I am not a technical person and so when So Versailles decides to act out or WordPress is giving me stress I run over to my technical right hand man to stress out and unload my tech issues on the poor guy. Thanks so much Tom, for all your work and especially for having patience with me.
Brace yourself for the part that sheds light on the fact that I may deep down have a heart:
I’ve been blessed with so much support for So Versailles over the past 6 months that’s humbled me and made me super shy when anyone tells me they like it. From family, friends, acquaintances, to wonderful random people on the Internet and companies who want to work with me. It’s nice to know that my sassy, I’d like to think funny, and hopefully useful posts are being seen and enjoyed by people other than myself. It’s weird, but in a good way. I guess I have the Internet to thank for that.
Thanks to all of you who read my posts religiously, often, or from time to time, I appreciate it, and you ride or die So Versailles fans are my homies. *raises gold Versace sneaker* so here’s to many more months of everything being So Versailles.
Now let’s listen to gangsta rap in our Chanel.
