Wow. I was not expecting this. If you’d have asked me which shows I was looking forward to at NYFW the Vera Wang one wouldn’t have even been on my list. I didn’t even note this show to check out and possibly do a review on – that’s how underwhelmed I assumed I’d be. Well I was dead wrong. And I will shamefully accept this blame because the overlooked Wang (Vera) smashed it. She lit fire to the catwalk. Bitch brought it.
The collection is tailored to perfection creating some pretty intimidating silhouettes. I can see Kylie Jenner rocking a few of these separates, it’s that kind of vibe. Once again another mainly monochrome collection (I hope you’re taking notes for SS16) with a small splash of crimson and a smattering of sequins (always a good shout). The collection is super chic, super crisp, super “I wear my sunglasses indoors and have resting bitch face” (a good thing). I’m even loving the shoes, and you know I’ve been having a hard time with the shoes in a lot of the last shows (tragic, I know). I’m just very happily overwhelmed by how boss bitch this collection is. Quite a lot of flesh is on show in this collection – a nod to the warm weather Spring/Summer is supposed to bring our way (SUPPOSED England, SUPPOSED!) – in the form of crop tops, mesh, inserts and the like. This only means one thing…sit ups start now.
Vera Wang SS16
Being completely honest, I previously only made a connection between Vera Wang and wedding dresses and that juvenile perfume (you know the one I’m talking about) but I would like to take this moment to apologise for my wrong-thinkings and declare myself a convert to Vera and her Wang…ways.
