Versace SS16 Show

Imma need an ambulance and about £50k in my bank account to spend on Versace for the Spring/Summer collection. My Just Giving page will be up soon…lol jokes (please don’t tell me you took that seriously). I think we all know that I would do unspeakable (illegal) things for Versace and I would probably pass out from convulsing violently with excitement if I were ever invited to a show. We all know my undying love for this brand. The Versace SS16 Show, was incredible, Donatella is a fabulous genius and just when I think we might just be able to predict the next collection…BAM, INCORRECT then I reprimand myself for questioning the creative deity that is the House of Versace.

Ok so, the new collection plays into the the toned down, darker colour palette that is doing the rounds for SS16, with an army theme. It was different for Versace, but it still celebrated the female body which the brand does so well but not in the same way as its Resort or Atelier collection does. This collection is more structured, with a mix of oversized rounded shoulders and impeccable Italian tailoring in khakis and blacks and burgundys. Everything is clinched at the waist with a Medusa head, sucking everything in and creating that feminine silhouette. Versace manages to channel a feminine but powerful look time and time again, so the army theme actually fits perfectly with the brand. Oddly enough, this collection reminds me so much of the Kenzo A/W15 collection with the mix of neons with darker hues. I’m totally dying over the clothes but the accessories have to be mentioned and I need, you don’t get it, I need one of these bags – I love the subtle colours paired with the neon detailing. It’s sexy, and strong and everything the Versace girl should be. Donatella has done it again, God Bless this woman *snaps for Donatella*.
