NYC Diary Day 3 & OOTD

So, the main reason for my galavanting off to the city I would quite easily leave my life behind for, was to attend the Simply Stylist Fashion & Beauty Bloggers conference. Now, I’d heard about the conferences before and fan-girled over a lot of the past speakers and panel members *cough* Michael Costello and Alessandra Ambrosio *cough* so I was super excited about the whole thing. It all kicked off with brunch sponsored by Library of Flowers which meant I took home some bomb-ass freebies and the room was decorated like a cute pink woodland forest. There was a little networking (ew, I hate that word) but more like chatting and my trying my best to explain the concept of So Versailles to hella people without boring myself…lol jokes So Versailles is never boring.

I sashayed around in a So Versailles dashiki, which is from the super limited edition line that launches tomorrow! I’ll stop myself from gushing bout it – you can deal with all of that in the post which will accompany the launch. I met some super wonderful and amazing fellow bloggers like Liz of Liz Avenue, Bianca Cortes and Carina of Her Open Window. After the brunch there were 3 panel discussions filled with amazingly inspiring people and 2 next-level keynote speakers, and Catt Sadler hosted whilst serving up fire in her over the knee Isabel Marant boots (need). I won’t lie to you – I had my favourites: Julie Anne Quay, Brandi Cyrus and the  incredible June Ambrose. Julie Anne Quay is the founder of VFiles (I wrote a post on their SS16 show) and she was just so real and genuine and I related so much when she said networking is sucking up, which it is and I can’t deal with that in my life. Brandi Cyrus was also super real and she wore this amazingly simple patent yellow skirt and grey sweater combo that I died for and I must purchase. June Ambrose though – this woman is a boss bitch if there ever was one, minus the being a bitch part. She’s incredible and I must have looked like such a stalker staring at her intensely when she was talking about styling Missy Elliot and Mary J Blige and George Clooney. I was obsessed, obviously, I lived for Missy in the early 2000s.

At the end of the talks there was a brand experience which was super fun and definitely added some kilos to my luggage. But, at this point my hunger had eaten a colossal hole in my stomach so I went to get some dirty, beautiful NYC pizza from Joe’s Pizza with one of my new blogger friends. We then found ourselves running around Dylan’s Candy Bar and getting Kalteen Bars a la Mean Girls “it just burns up all your carbs”. Then, following a combination of a very persuasive guy and not entirely understanding the situation, we ended up on the top of the Empire State Building, looking over the glittering lights of the city. Such a super magical end to the trip…then I got myself a key ring that looked like a licence plate with the phrase “$ Talks” on it because I’m tacky like that and it’s fabulous.

Basically, I had a super fun time, met some amazing people and brands, the only downside was that I had to come back home. I’m gonna cry myself to sleep now, k bye.
