Atelier Versace Couture Spring 16

I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t ready for this collection, literally, as I completely forgot about the couture collections (I’m a terrible fashion girl, I know), but you better believe that when I heard the Atelier Versace Couture show had happened I scampered like a raccoon on cocaine to my laptop to trawl through every look from the show.

You know I was dying for the clean white looks opening the show with the crisp vibrant neon yellow detailing *throws head back in adoration* (NEED that bomber jacket). If there’s one brand which knows how to make pant suits sexy with precision tailoring, and less Hilary Clinton (no shade, love her, but she is a middle aged woman…). In a very Versace way, the models got to show some leg with bordering indecently high thigh splits, creating that signature confident, sexy Versace woman. Ok so what I’m loving from this collection is the black, woven, almost tribal, a little bit sports-luxe section is the middle of the show. I love the neon tying into the blacks creating a strong enough look without being too bright. Again, bomber jacket…ooh bombers in couture shows…I love.

Lemme give my 2 cents on the back end of the collection. The strong tailoring and signature Versace mini dresses wrapped and weaved with ropes whipping as the models strut down the runway (although definitely less wearable – this is couture) – if that isn’t a show of strength and power in a women’s collection I don’t know what is. Once again, snaps for Donatella.

What did you think of the collection? Any fave looks?

To be honest, I don’t really like the looks. I think that clothes and garments that present the female body as a sexy symbol, also present it as a sex symbol. That’s why women nowadays can’t breastfeed their babies. All the dignity has been lost by the sexualitation in fashion.

But if I had to choose one I would choose from the 3rd row the 1st and 3rd…
