BRIT Awards 2016 Best Dressed (& Worst!)

I stopped myself from doing a best and worst dressed for the Grammys last week because I felt the outfits were super underwhelming and there were only two worth mentioning. The BRITs rolled around on Wednesday and managed to let me down even further…you know there’s an issue when your worst dressed list is longer than your best dressed, so brace yourselves for the So Versailles BRIT Awards 2016 Best Dressed (& worst dressed)…in no particular order…

Best Dressed

Charlotte Wiggins

It’s slim pickings and I would have hoped, had the red carpet stepped it up a bit, poor Charlotte would have been in the “Meh” or “Safe Bet” section but alas the low turn out of outfits worth drooling over have left Charlotte in the best dressed list. This sort of outfit never really fails for an event like this – classic, simple and it works. It it ain’t broke don’t fix it and all that…

Laura Whitmore

Yes, girl! This is what I’m talking about for red carpet fashion! Sexy, fun, not too serious, a little sparkly. The shoes matched, her hair and make up was killing it. The choker could go though.

Ella Eyre

Simple, yet effective. Everything matched well and the whole look was cohesive. *snaps for Ella*.

Matilda Lowther

Ok I love how in theory this outfit doesn’t go, but it works perfectly. It was fun, the sequins added some glamour, it was BRIT awards appropriate and slay-worthy.

Let Me Down

Girl, you been talking ’bout all that work you been doing but your stylist doesn’t seem to be doing any… I feel like these sorts of dresses really don’t do much for non-models because they just hang straight down and I kind of hate this feather happening. Ri, I feel so sad to put you in this list.

As the woman of the moment this frilly red sheet doesn’t do Adele many favours – it’s such a forgettable outfit that I almost forgot to add her to this list…

Worst Dressed

Kylie Minogue

Kylie seems to be wearing some poor girl’s prom dress with emerald city peep-toes and a horrible hat which makes her look like she should be nominated for “Best Indie Album”.

WTF is this!? The jumpsuit is not only ill-fitting but washes her out, I don’t know why those shoes were paired with it and was the fur really necessary to add to this outfit, in which already a hell of a lot was happening?

Little Mix

I feel like their stylist was trying so hard to do the most that the girls just ended up looking like they were dressed in some cheap tat. From left to right: the bottom of this dress I hate, and her hair in no way compliments the look; the only passable outfit ok, fine, I like this one; this sort of ghetto prom queen look just didn’t work, the material looked cheap and unfortunately the poor girl ended up #FreeingTheNipple; this looks like a terrible wedding dress. (This is the most I’ve ever talked about Little Mix).

Lily Donaldson

…looks like she is missing half of her outfit. It just doesn’t look right…am I right? And the shoes would have gone better with a super tailored outfit, not this flowy thing. It might just be the photo but, no girl. This outfit it not worth her accidentally flashing her bits for.

Jess Glynne

This one really is the worst. So much is wrong here. Why do I feel like she as trying to channel her inner Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl? It did not work…at all. And who made her do her hair like this? This is the kind of hairstyle I actively try to avoid in life. And the pointless choker…nope.

Alicia Dixon

Ooh dear. The blacks don’t even match. I feel like she was trying so hard and it just failed. The jacket would have worked with tailored trousers/leggings or open with a body con maybe but with this very confused skirt it’s like watching a terrible first date – painful. Is that a bralette underneath? *throws head back in frustration* The only good thing about this outfit? Her shoes. They’re not the worst.

Cheryl Cole

First of all this hairstyle is only appropriate for lazy days, but when you’re actually going to see people or you’re on the red carpet this hairstyle really should be dead. I think this dress would worked as a mini, minus the extra skirt making it a high-low. It would have been good, she would have made it to my best dressed, but right now she looks like she belongs in that Girls Aloud video where they’re all dressed like Marie Antoinette.

I didn’t actually see a lot of the outfits but you’re right there were so many badly dressed stars. I did think Jess Glynne’s outfit (and hair) looked awful when I saw her perform! x

It shocks me so much because they pay people to dress them! X

Most of the outfits were like a throwback to the early noughties, I was cringing throughout! You can’t completely blame the stylist though, the stars themselves do have some sort of say!

You’re right! They have the opportunity to say no X
