This NYFW was taken over by the celebrities, not the celebrities on the front row (f-ck your front row) but celebrities designing for the catwalk. We already know Kanye with Yeezy Season 3 kicked off NYFW, then the day after Rihanna for Puma – Fenty x Puma took to the ‘walk to show us what the Barbadian beauty is made of.
Fenty X Puma Collection Review
The collection was unpredictable. In many ways it was exactly what I was expecting – very athleisure, very sports luxe, very effortlessly cool. But I wasn’t expecting this whole goth vibe going on. Aside from the make up on the models, the font used across the collection is gothic and the whole colour story is very dark, bar the whites (maybe I don’t have an argument). The collection is super hot for Rihanna…for Rihanna, because worn together the collection can seem a bit intimidating for most, like “it’s too cool for me”. But upon closer inspection there’s a lot that is easily thrown on and yes, a few pieces that I’ll have my finger on the trigger (my mouse pad) for.

I’m obsessed with the grey faux-fur oversized hoodie, the caps, the patterned socks/thigh highs (but my talons mean their lives with be very short so best not…) and the boxing shorts (#need). I love the thigh high sneakers but the issue with thigh high boots of any kind is that there’s no guarantee they’ll accommodate calves a bit larger or muscular that the average size 0 model and let’s not address the top of the thighs (thick thighs save lives, guys).
This is one of those collections which you’ll love piece by piece. Don’t tell Ri, but I kinda hate all of the shoes (minus the thigh highs).
