Ok so going from an avid non-foundation wearer to building my medium coverage collection in a matter of months is the beginnings of a new pastime. I’ve been looking for foundations with more coverage than a BB cream (my usual) to get that flawless, airbrushed, how-is-her-skin-that-good look.
Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint Review
So Nars dropped the new Velvet Matte Skin Tints, which I’d actually heard a lot about on these (beauty) streets due to my almost obsessive following of YouTube Beauty Gurus. I knew it was medium coverage and matte (duh, the name) so I decided to go and figure out which colour I was, then put together a Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint review for y’all.

Having never used Nars foundations before I had no idea what shade I was but, like a child, decided I wanted to be the one with the coolest name like Seychelles or Annapurna. Funnily enough none of those were my shades so I got bundled with St. Moritz (Medium 1) (it’s cool I can get down with that), which plays into the lighter shades on my face but allows me to go ham on the bronzing (a must). I could have gotten away with Cuzco (Medium 2) but it left little room for bronzing (a basic human right) which I can’t be dealing with so St Moritz it was.
At first I was like, um I hate it, when I first smeared it all over my face but after a little while the velvet matte finish came to play. It’s super natural looking, easy to blend and stays all day without giving up and fidgeting around your face. I will say that if you have combination/oily skin it won’t mattify you so don’t depend on it for that. But once you’ve translucent powdered yourself, the finish is super flawless and beautiful.
Thoughts? Have you tried out the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint?
