You know when you hear so much about something you start to get convinced by it? Like, “this brush is God’s gift to mankind” and “you’ll never use another make up brush again” or in Kanye’s case one night Kim said “you’re God” as a throwaway comment and that’s all Yeezy needed to validate his deity (Yeezy taught me). Anyway, what I’m saying is after all the hype I had convinced myself that I NEEDED the Artis Oval 6 as my foundation brush, here’s my Artis brush review…
Artis Brush Review
These are the brushes that Kylie Jenner uses and she famously applied her moisturiser with, they’re not cheap – the Oval 6 is £40/$55 and the prices move up and down along with the size of the brush. Yes, it’s weird to do a toothbrush/circular motion on your face but yes, it does apply your foundation flawlessly *sassy snap*. The bristles are super soft and not too dense and I’m sure this has some technical reason as to why these brushes are superior. What I do know is the angle of the brush head to the stem (stem?) is to rest your finger on so that ergonomically (ooh) it’s easier for you to apply your own makeup.
Annoyingly I found out they just launched in a gold colour (pissed me off) after I bought mine, and I know they do a “smoke” colour which is just as sexy. I agree that, yes they work, yes they’re Beyoncé-level flawless, but if you’re not ready for that type of brush commitment at this kind of money then, something like the Tarte Airbuki brush does an amazing job.
