Versace AW16 MFW

Versace. Versace. Versace. Donatella, what will we do with you!? Delivering season after season of looks that leave me salivating and willing to do illegal things to get my hands on the collection, she went and brought it home for the Versace AW16 collection…leaving me with a long wish list.

Versace AW16 Review

The collection was very sports luxe, which I love, and extremely wearable. Once again Donatella, was creating a collection with the strong, powerful, Versace woman at the centre of everything. The colour palette is dark, with bursts of neon and a hefty serving of light blue. Waists cinched, much like the Versace SS16 collection, with strappy belts and the runway was saturated with the models of the moment – Gigi, Adriana, Jourdan, Kendall…

I’m obsessed with the coats and jacketing from this collection, from the feminine, classic piece wrapped around Adriana to the slashed oversized jacket hanging off Gigi’s shoulder, and the bombers…oh the bombers. Sports Luxe is casual and cosy and Versace made it sexy, but also powerful, even a little military in some looks. There were a few fur pieces at the end of the collection which were too mouth-wateringly perfect for me to mention.

Ughhhhh the accessories. The Palazzo Empire is officially a classic with the style coming back in different colourways for Pre-Fall and now AW16 – almost delicious, ice cream-looking colours, a yummy peach melba mixed with a blue raspberry.  Worn with fur fox tails swinging (eyes closed just swangin’) from the handles – bag charm alert (#NEED)! Also, I’m dying over the elasti-chokers (#NEED) cropping up on a few of the models strutting down the catwalk.

I love this collection and it actually looks wearable unlike a lot of the collections shown! I do think this year was better than last though so hopefully its a step in the right direction!
