If you’ve been with me on this foundation journey of mine, you’ll know I’ve tried out a fair few foundations – from the lighter coverage to the “yeah I got flawless skin whatchu gon’ do about it” full coverage (I’ll link all my previous reviews at the bottom of this post). But I’ve found it, I’ve found the one! Like Brad to Angelina or Ryan to Blake or Jay-Z to Beyoncé…oh wait…(Becky with the good hair)… You get what I mean, I’ve found the perfect foundation and it comes in a stick! Ooh novelty, yes…The
Make Up For Ever Foundation Stick is everything…

Make Up For Ever Foundation Stick Review
First off, the guy at the counter told me that I could use a brush to sweep the product off the stick for a lighter coverage but I’m to lazy for that ish so stick-to-face is the way I like to go. For some reason I also thought it would be hard and dry to apply…like taking a Crayola to the face, but it’s super creamy and super easy to work with. I swipe across the forehead (which is a long swipe #fivehead), down the nose, along each cheek and a dab on the chin *dabs*, then I go to work with my
Artis brush blending in my work of art.

The finish is very much like skin, it’s fabulous – it covers everything you don’t want to see in a sort of natural way (if that’s possible) in that the effect is definitely not cakey (win). I can’t comment on how buildable the product is as I’ve never done it (never had to) but as for longevity? This baby lasts. I have combination/oily at midday skin and although I tend to use setting powders with all of my foundations, when used with the Make Up For Ever Stick Foundation it actually keeps me matte…like actually, like its a work of God.
I also love the packaging, it’s cute and compact and very travel-friendly. Liquid foundations start to get messy around their pump or dipper or pipette or whatever they use as an applicator but this little one keeps itself clean which satisfies my aesthetic needs.
I like the sound of this, especially as it gives a matt finish, and looks easy to use
This looks interesting and is something I’d never considered- I always go for liquid. Would be great to see some swatches 🙂
