Kylie is just sitting over there, a recent 19 year old in her Maybach, still glowing from her incredible trip to Turks & Caicos with her super famous, super cool squad, without a care in the world, as Kylie Cosmetics takes over the make up industry (and my bank account). As you should know by now, Kylie dropped the news recently that she’s coming out with “Kyshadow” palettes – genius name, not fair. The first palette: The Bronze Palette, was released and I snagged one for myself. There was a little controversy when the palette first dropped – namely the similarities to ShaaanXO’s palette – but I wasn’t swayed, I wasn’t deterred, Kylie has done something to me and as such I need everything from Kylie Cosmetics. I painfully paid the customs charge for this palette and although I’m sure there are many a cheaper dupe, I want the Kyshadow palette.
Kyshadow Palette Review
It arrived, after about 2.5 weeks of my stalking the USPS tracking page and aforementioned customs charge 🙄.
It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but not in a bad way, because it’s super easy to throw into your make up bag or into your handbag if you’re one of those girls who touches up or does their make up on the go (I’m not, I’m too lazy for that ish). The packaging is cute, very in line with her brand, the drips are back – although they’re coming from her eyes, which is slightly harrowing to be honest, but it’s also cool.
The names of all of the shades are shown on the back of the palette and they’re all named after semi-precious stones (Kylie is a crystal-collecting gal).
The shadows are super soft and easy to apply, and they all suit eachother and all that. The matte colours have more pigment than the shimmers, which is a shame, I would have liked the shimmers to be a lot more pigmented but they’re very natural-looking. I find that there are certain colours I don’t really use, but I guess that’s how it is with all palettes.
Overall – I think old Ky did a good job. Did I totally buy into the hype? Yes. But was the product actually worth it? Yes – I’m excited to see her next palettes (nothing’s worth the customs charge though, sort it out).
Have you tried the Kyshadow palette? What do you think?
