Kicking off the 2017 award ceremonies with some good fashion for once (already better than 2016), the Golden Globes went down on Sunday night. It gave us even more reasons to love Meryl Streep and even more reasons to want to be Donald Glover/Childish Gambino’s BFF…and download Migos’ Bad & Boujee if you hadn’t already. Anyway, enough of the chit chat…the Golden Globes 2017 Best Dressed…and worst…
Golden Globes 2017 Best Dressed
Just incase we didn’t envy her life enough, she swans up to the Golden Globes in this glorious black Atelier Versace gown with curve accentuating gold detailing. So many things right with this look…note the symmetrical green stone (Emerald, Im assuming) bracelets…nice touch.
The bitch killed it. This look was EVERYTHING, my absolute fave of all of the red carpet looks. The level of embellishment is SO Versailles, mixed with the sheer fabric and matching the earrings perfectly. Its almost a JLO bodysuit from her Vegas show turned into a couture gown…and I die for it. *snaps for Sofia*.
Simple, golden, stunning. Even the lipstick matches…not so much the man…lol jokes.
Kristen is giving me a sexy, glittering non-clinically depressed Morticia Adams, and I’m all over it. The deep cut neckline is low but in a super chic way and matches her hair perfectly. Love it.
Well, well, well, look who is serving up some Dolce & Gabbana realness (even though it wasn’t D&G…awkward) complete with hairstyle. This dress was perfect for her – the wide skirt, paired with a sexier cut out top kept the look young. I just love the fact that this whole look was carried through the outfit into accessories, hair and make up – yes.
This dress was such a perfect choice for Hailee – the light, delicate, sheer fabric draped very demurely, which managed to keep things a little sexy but also so beautiful and innocent…unlike her debut single *side eye*.
I had to provide a front and side shot of this one. Firstly, the glorious canary yellow silk which was throwing me back to the cover of ‘How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days’ (absolute classic). Secondly, the pairing with the crystal harness/choker incorporated into the dress…and thirdly, the incredible chandelier-like detailing on the back of the dress. It was unexpected and I loved it.
Golden Globes 2017 Worst Dressed
Firstly Madam, I don’t know who you are. Secondly, why is your dress some geometric optical illusion I don’t care to work out?
Sarah Jessica Parker
Oh SJP, it pains me to put you on this end of the list but what is happening with the arms on this dress!? She was doing ok until that point where the outfit really took a nose drive… Also the hair…can we not?
*sigh* where to begin…nothing here makes sense. From the waist down, the dress is almost tolerable but my gosh what’s happened to that top? It looks like spider’s webs that have been going to work in her armpits – and the stylist though this was a good idea how? And what’s with the irrelevant belt?
Is this woman still relevant?
Oh Nicole… this dress wouldn’t even have fit in with your Moulin Rouge costume wardrobe. It’s not great, I’m not sure what look you’re after but safe to say it’s not working.
ANOTHER GCSE TEXTILES EFFORT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. I am already confused as to how Karrueche wangled an invite to the Golden Globes, but either way, not only is the colour of this dress truly vile (a colour that belongs only in a 6 year old’s dressing up box) but…its pure trash. There’s no sugar coating it – its trash, I probably could have made this in 2 hours with a trip to hobby craft and a hot glue gun. I beg of you, please get a qualified stylist and fire the 15 year old it seems you have hired.
What did you think of the Golden Globes looks? Whose did you love and whose was pure trash?
Be So Versailles.
