I won’t lie to you, I wrote about 3 intros for this post and they were all trash so imma just jump right in with: I wore a super old trench dress with Versace accessories and this is how it turned out. Long story short, I was invited to a restaurant opening and I literally had no clue what to wear.
The initial look I had in mind was a Kim-K-esque knee length unitard with a mesh parka cinched at the waist with a belt that means business…though that didn’t end well (you can read about it here). So that look was dead in the water. Then I thought hmm what about a bralette situation (like in this post) but with some cool, hot, high-waisted bandage leggings, again with the mesh parka (I really wanted to wear this goddamn parka). I wasn’t hugely married to the look though so I shoved that bitch in the corner to starve and that look eventually died too.
Then I was sifting through my wardrobe trying to find something that spoke to me. And there it was, the Burberry trench dress I’ve had since I was about 16. Safari-chic comes out every summer and seems to stay relevant, so a trench dress is actually a pretty lit investment piece – ready for you each summer to re-style. Anyway, I cinched it with this belt that was my mum’s back in the day, matched the belt with my medusa necklace (keeping things consistent). The look was topped off with my new platform sandals which are super badass. The look gives me a lil’ Lara Croft mixed with the Wild Thornberrys…make sense? I didn’t think so.
Update: didn’t end up wearing this to the launch – ended up looking too daytime-y. FFS Ca$$ie…
